Minister of Public Works and Infrastructure, Sihle Zikalala, MEC for Human Settlements and Public Works , Sipho "KK" Nkosi, Mayor of Ndwedwe local municipality Mfeka, inkosi Ngcobo, Mayor of Maphumulo Local Municipality Mrs Matozi Khuzwayo-Dlamini visted community of ward 11 to officiate the launch of Sonkombo community hall. Mayor Mfeka thanked government of the ruling party for reaching out to community on the ground and ensure that service delivery is fast-tracked. Inkosi Ngcobo acknowledged service delivered in the area and thanked government for providing tangible and visible services to the community. MEC Nkosi appealed to the community of ward 11 to look after the facility. Minister Zikalala appreciated the work done by Provincial government and provided a decent facility for the community. The Minister acknowledged resistance of community and in return service delivery is tangible in the area,ie, houses are provided, roads Infrastructure are upgraded. INdwedwe has 16 Amakhosi and 19 wards with very limited infrastructure for local farming community. Minister encouraged community to delve inro farming and agriculture. Minister thanked MEC Nkosi for providing beautiful community hall that will serve many purposes to the community. Government is in the process of implementing phase 2 of Nkumbanyuswa housing project with a yield of 2000 units. The day was concluded by visiting community of ward 03 to launch construction of 307 Operation Sukuma Sakhe under Nodunga traditional leadership. On behalf of local traditional house, induna Cele welcomed MEC and local Mayor. MEC Nkosi reiterated that construction of houses in rural areas is one of the priority to fight eradication of mud houses. MEC appealed to the department to ensure that all five wards benefit through OSS. Contractor was introduced to the community and requestwd contractor to employ local people and to fast-track construction of project. In conclusion, MEC appealed to the community not to bring politics in the project and local business forums must refrain from disturbing the project. Happy Birthday to MEC Nkosi.
